Live2D models are a technology by the Japanese company Cubism: https://www.live2d.com/en/
They create animated models that come to life when combined with rigging and AI technology! You may have seen them in action with all your favourite vTubers!
Layla supports using Live2D models as backgrounds for your character. When you use Live2D models:
they will react to your input and adjust their expressions
if you voice chat with your character, their lips will sync with the output audio
they will have natural breathing and eye blinking animations

Where to find Live2D models
First, you need the models. There are various ways to get them (both free and paid). The following sections lists some common places.
Official Cubism Samples
You can download any characters listed there. You will get a ZIP or RAR file which you can import into Layla (see instructions below).

BoothPM
This site is in Japanese. BoothPM offers a wide variety of free/paid general/adult Live2D models. Most models should be compatible with Layla. Here are a list of tested models:
You can adjust the filters in the site to browser for others. Note: BoothPM is a third-party site and is not affiliate with Layla in any way.
Individual Creators
Individual creators can create custom models upon request. Here's a good one I found: https://ko-fi.com/s/2deea6c774
The creator is open to request for more. This creator is not affiliate with Layla in any way.
Importing Live2D models in Layla
First, add the Live2D mini-app in Layla:

You will see a list of currently available/imported models. You can import ZIP/RAR files of your models by using the big blue button at the top:

After you've imported your models, you can view them by tapping on the "eye" icon. This will bring up a model viewer. You can preview your model to make sure everything displays correctly. Use the magnifying glass to the right and the arrows to the left to position your models for display.

Underneath the model, you can link Live2D expressions to Layla expressions. When Layla detects any expressions, it will look at the configured links here and display the corresponding Live2D expression.
Once your model is imported, you are ready to use them as your character!
Go to your character creation screen, scroll down to the background section:
